GENEVA, N.Y. -- Funeral arrangements have been finalized for a Geneva mother killed in a murder-suicide Sunday.
Calling hours for Emily Carson will be held Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home on Main Street in Geneva. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 9:30.
Police say the 38-year-old mother of three was fatally shot by Pedro Pacheco, 35. Police say the two had an on-again, off-again relationship that turned violent in public Sunday.
Pacheco shot Carson and then himself. Finger Lakes Health says Carson was well-liked and respected in the community because of her work at Geneva Hospital. She worked at the hospital for 18 years, most recently in the emergency department.
She's survived by her children, parents and two siblings.
