Police are on the lookout for a man who they say assaulted a city bus driver in Brooklyn last month.

Investigators said Friday that the man seen in the surveillance video above attacked the 62-year-old bus driver of a B-8 bus in Flatbush on Jan. 29 around 6:15 p.m.

Transport Workers Union officials said the man had been yelling and cursing in the back of the bus before he demanded the driver pull over to let him off.

The union said that when the driver told him to wait until the next stop, the man started attacking the driver at the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Avenue D.

A union rep NY1 spoke with said the driver handled the situation well.

"He's traumatized," said J.P. Patafio, a representative of TWU Local 100, the union. "He's out of work and he's still trying to understand what happened.

"But he was very calm that night and he remained calm and he kept his composure, and he really prevented a very ugly situation from getting worse," Patafio continued.

Officials say overall assaults on bus drivers dropped by about 38 percent between 2014 and 2015.

Police said the suspect is about 5 foot 9 inches with dreadlocks.
