24,000 people worldwide created new games over the weekend at Global Game Jam.

The annual event was hosted at Buffalo Game Space and began Friday night.

Teams are given 48 hours to create their own video games.

From there, the teams brainstormed ideas and put their concepts onto paper.

Buffalo Game Space's president shared what he thinks is the best part.

"It's always exciting and refreshing to bring in people who are just learning it and who are excited about the process and trying out something new," said John Futscher, Buffalo Game Space President.

The event ended at 5 p.m. Sunday.
