CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. -- You can be a part of history Friday at Peek n' Peak in Chautauqua County.

The ski resort is joining more than 150 other venues in trying to break the world record for the largest multi-venue ski and the largest multi-venue snowboard lessons ever taught.

Ski resorts across the country will be taking part simultaneously.

It's part of Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month, which is trying to get more people hitting the powder.

It's going to show people winter is not this drab season that people have to sludge through, gives them a reason to come to the mountain and enjoy winter in a positive way and get kids and adults of all ages out skiing and snowboarding," said J. Mark Graham, Peek n' Peak Lead Snowboard Supervisor.

Lessons begin at 10 a.m. and run through 11:30 a.m.

Beginners tickets are just $10 and are good all day.
