There will soon be a new attraction in Washington, D.C. and it has a local connection.

The Wegmans Wonderplace will open Wednesday at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, and Time Warner Cable News will be there for all of the festivities. The Wonderplace is the first gallery on the National Mall for children 0 to 6 years old. The gallery opening coincides with Wegmans 100 year anniversary next year.

Wegmans says the 1,700 square foot center will feature more than 100 objects and six sections offering visitors a hands-on experience. Time Warner Cable News reporter Cristina Domingues will be there when they cut the ribbon on the Wegmans Wonderplace.
