MONROE -- The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down just south of Monroe Monday evening.

It touched down between 5:15 and 5:30. A viewer sent us footage of the funnel cloud near highway 207 at Jack Davis Road.

Luckily no one was hurt when that tornado touched down, but it did leave some damage.

The tornado threw a camper on its side and took down several trees in its path.

We met with one neighbor who says she's never experienced a tornado before, and took cover when it all happened.

"I was reading my bible,” said Peggy Davis

Davis says a storage building, along with two other buildings on her property were damaged from the tornado.

More of the damage will be clear in the morning when the sun comes up
