NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- We've made it through Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. Now, it's Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to thinking about others.
Several restaurants in Niagara Falls are pitching in Tuesday by giving a portion of their sales to the Community Missions Food Pantry.
Leaders at the food pantry said demand has risen 30 percent over last year.
More than 120 volunteers will also be redoing the floor of the food pantry Tuesday, as well as serving food and decking the halls around the Mission.
"People are struggling, and they need that help," said Rev. Mark Breese, Agency Minister. "To have the local businesses be part of that, to try to make a difference. That's just huge, and it shows how our communities in particular pull together to really try and help their neighbors in need."
Participating restaurants include:
- Rainforest Cafe, 300 3rd Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303
- TGI Friday's, 300 3rd Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303
- Denny's, 443 Main Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301
