Austin Habitat for Humanity celebrated the grand opening of its new home center store on West Ben White Boulevard.
It's called the “ReStore” and specializes in home and hardware items.
They just moved in about a month ago.
With 33 thousand square feet of space, you can find nearly anything you want for your home, including lawn equipment, furniture, and cabinets.
Mayor Steve Adler was on hand and even local radio station 101X played music.
"Lamps or lumber, kitchen cabinets, if you're doing a renovation, you can come and bring them to the ReStore. Then we take that, and we either fix it up, or if it's in good condition, then we put it on the floor and we sell it. And proceeds from our ReStore go right back into Austin Habitat's programs to build homes for low income families," said Erin Samson of Austin Habitat For Humanity.
Austin's ReStore is the first of its kind in the United States.
If you're renovating your home, instead of sending cabinets or appliances to the dump, donate them.
