COLUMBUS COUNTY -- Columbus County authorities made an arrest in a deadly shooting over the weekend.
District Attorney Jon David says 42-year-old Wendell Hardie is charged with first degree murder.
Hardie spoke to Time Warner Cable News in 2012 just months after Charlotte teen Jasmine Thar was shot and killed when a neighbor's gun accidentally went off.
His daughter Jahmesha McMillian was shot but survived.
Hardie is accused of shooting 41-year-old Kena McMillian at a home on South Wilkes Street on Saturday in Chadbourn.
She was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Hardie was booked in the Columbus County Detention Center.
