STAFFIRD, N.Y. – A popular restaurant in Genessee County is up for sale. After 36 years in business, the owners of the Red Osier Landmark Restaurant in Stafford said they're retiring and looking for a buyer.

Bob and Noreen Moore purchased the restaurant back in 1979. Their first day of operation, they served 18 meals.  The Moores have grown the business and now serve up about 1,500 dinners and a ton of beef a week.

"I was about to turn the deal down around Thanksgiving of '79 and I'll never forget you said, 'You turn this down now Bob, you're going to be so sorry.' Never have I ever looked back with any regret,” said Bob.

"It's bittersweet,” said manager Kathy Russell. “I'm happy for them because they deserve it, because they've worked really really hard, and I'm sad because I don't know if I'll ever work for anyone as loyal and caring as Bob and Noreen."

Bob and Noreen's son, Rob Moore Junior owns the other Red Osier businesses such as the kiosks, concession stands and catering. He will continue to own and operate them.
