KNIGHTDALE – A man is dead after a shooting Saturday afternoon.
The shooting happened around 3:45 p.m. on Rutledge Landing Drive.
Investigators said 47-year-old Derrick Natson was shot and killed.
The Wake County Sheriff's Office said they're interviewing 36-year-old Neil Dick in connection with the case.
Sheriff Donnie Harrison said they don't have a lot information to go off of.
“When we arrived at the scene, pretty quickly the deputies and state trooper found one deceased person lying in the driveway,” Harrison said. “And that's all we have. Two other people were seen leaving the scene on foot. But, we have a shooter in custody. Trying to figure out what we do have.”
Neighbor Shawn Michael said he is shocked.
“It's kind of astonishing,” Michael said. “It's a hard pill to swallow because it's so close to home, especially because you don't expect this. And it's like, man what else could be around you that you're not aware of.”
Investigators said they're in the process of identifying and interviewing all potential witnesses.
