TROY, N.Y. -- A dozen drivers found their cars in a private lot at 116 Fourth Street in Troy with some or all of their tires slashes Wednesday morning.
"It's quite a few tires, I mean it's very unfortunate," said Troy Police Captain Dan DeWolf.
"It's odd that they're all contained within that parking lot," DeWolf said. "But at this time we don't have any motive for it or any reason as to why it happened other than somebody going out there and committing this act for no good reason."
"It seems to be the summertime, it happens every year at every place I've been in," said Guinevere Davis, Chef at The Flying Chicken. "There just seems to be in the summertime more activity in general."
At The Flying Chicken, just two doors down from the lot, Davis says she's not too concerned with the crime keeping customers at bay.
"I've never had any customers had anything tampered with, any of their vehicles. There's a parking lot behind us that's a Troy parking lot. They park on the streets and no one's ever had any issues," Davis said.
Like any city, she says it's always best to be alert.
"Walk with your head up and with a purpose and keep an eye on where you're going and not be with your head down on your phone making yourself a target."
Whomever slashed all those tires may be in for a rough morning of their own, as police say they're tracking down leads already.
