POLAND, N.Y. -- Police in Chautauqua County are investigating a crash involving an Amish buggy and a car. It happened in the town of Poland on Falconer Frewsburg Road near Quaint Road.
Police said Amanda Braley failed to negotiate a curve, crossed into oncoming traffic and hit the Amish buggy. Five people were inside the buggy, including a two-month-old baby. One woman inside the buggy was taken to WCA Hospital in Jamestown with serious injuries. Braley was also hurt, along with the horse pulling the buggy.
Braley is charged with failure to keep right, using a cell phone while driving and driving on a suspended license.
