SAN ANTONIO -- One of Judson Independent School District's high schools is getting national recognition.
The Judson Early College Academy has been named as one of the Top High Schools in America according to Newsweek's annual rankings.
The school ranked number 152 out of 500 schools -- 16,000 schools were considered for the rating.
Judson Early College Academy was rated No. 11 in Texas.
In addition to high school courses, Judson students can earn an Associate Degree from Northeast Lakeview College before heading off to college.
"It's very exciting and it's just a recognition of the hard work the students and the teachers do. Our kids are really dedicated and work really hard. We're very proud of them for that," said Judson Early College Academy Principal Michael McFalls.
Last year, more than $14 million was given to seniors at the school in the form of scholarships to finish up their last two years of college.
Many Judson Early College Academy students end up attending major universities and Ivy League schools.
