San Antonio police arrested a man early Friday morning for his involvement in a deadly hit-and-run wreck earlier this year.

The traffic investigation detail issued a warrant for 37-year-old Gabriel Ramos, who was arrested at his home shortly after 3 a.m.

Police say he is tied to the deadly hit-and-run that took place at the intersection of Bell and Uhr on Feb. 22.

Investigators say 33-year-old Giovanna Eguia Rodriguez died after her car was hit. Police say they have evidence that links Ramos to the wreck.

"We found DNA because, allegedly, Mr. Ramos ran a four-way stop sign at this location, and it was a violent impact. With that impact, the airbag did deploy, and based on the injuries from Mr. Ramos, some of his DNA evidence ended up on that airbag,” office Douglas Greene said.

Ramos is charged with failure to stop and render aid death since he fled the scene on foot. He could face time in prison and substantial fines.
