Layoffs will be coming sooner than expected for local manufacturer Apex Tool Group.
A company spokeswoman confirms that Apex now plans to close its Cortland plant by the end of October -- two months earlier than expected.
As a result of the closure, 89 people will lose their jobs. The company cited economic reasons as the reason for the move.
