The first big piece of Governor Andrew Cuomo's revitalization of the Harriman Campus is now in place.
A ribbon cutting was held Tuesday at the newly renovated Building 5 at the Harriman Campus.
The building will be the home of the new OGS Business Services Center, and house up to 1,600 employees.
The State Financial System, and E-Licensing operations will also be located there.
The work was also done under Cuomo’s Executive Order 88, that mandates a 20 percent improvement in the energy efficiency performance of state government buildings by April 2020.
"Governor Cuomo's vision for a streamlined government that creates efficiencies in order to provide better service and save taxpayer dollars are what drove the creation of the Business Service Center enterprise," said RoAnn Destito of the Office of General Services Commissioner.
Work on the 235,000 square foot building began in March of 2014.
