TWC NEWS VIDEO:  FREDONIA, NY -- Officials cut the ribbon on the new Pathways in Technology Early College High School Academy at the BOCES LoGuidice Center Campus in Fredonia Monday morning.

The high school to college to career program is the first of its kind in Western New York.

The P-TECH Academy is a $2.8 million state funded collaboration between BOCES, area schools, Jamestown Community College and the industrial and manufacturing business community.  Freshmen students entering into the program in 2015 can graduate within six years with a regents diploma, an associates degree and be first in line for jobs from participating employers.

"Students really get a pathway to a career future here in this region with advanced manufacturers who've expressed needs for these students as their future employees," said David O'Rourke, Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES District Superintendent.

The inaugural class of 31 students have already started with a summer bridge session to get them ready for the Fall semester.
