ALBANY, N.Y. -- A new Meals on Wheels resource is up and running at Capital South Campus Center in Albany.
The Walter and Michelle Borisenok Family Meals on Wheels Culinary Arts Kitchen held its grand opening Wednesday.
The 3,000 square-foot commercial kitchen, located at 20 Warren Street, will help Senior Services of Albany to produce hundreds of meals a day for the 'Meals on Wheels Program.'
Schenectady County Community College will also use it as a classroom for culinary arts training courses.
The new kitchen was funded by a $750,000 award from Homes and Community Renewal, under Governor Cuomo's $1 billion House New York initiative.
"Their collaboration, this collaboration, on this center will allow us to extend additional educational opportunities further into the Albany community," said President of Schenectady County Community College Dr. Steady Moono.
Meals on Wheels assists people who have trouble preparing food on their own. They have more than 20 employees and more than 450 volunteers.
