Developers behind the multi-million dollar Collegetown Crossings project in Ithaca are marking a milestone today, as they break ground on the project.
The Crossings, which will be located on College Avenue, are designed to be a 44-unit apartment complex with the area's first full-service grocery store.
It will also include a fitness center, bike storage and a TCAT transit hub.
The project was scaled down since its first design, because developers were not able to comply with parking and loading regulations in the city.
But the planning board finally approved it in September 2014...and they are hoping only 12-months of construction will be needed. That would allow tenants to start moving in by August 2016.
