ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Pong, Pac Man, Tetris, Super Mario Brothers, Doom and World of Warcraft make up the inaugural class of inductees to the World Video Game Hall of Fame at The Strong Museum in Rochester.
The World Video Game Hall of Fame recognizes games that meet a certain criteria including longevity, geographical reach, icon-status and more.
The winning titles were selected from 15 finalists, which included Angry Birds, FIFA, The Legend of Zelda, Minecraft, The Oregon Trail, Pokemon, The Sims, Sonic the Hedgehog and Space Invaders.
The Hall of Fame was established in 2014 to recognize individual electronic games of all types that have been favorites for people of all ages for years and for years to come.
