There is a new sport rolling out in the Southern Tier. It's called Foot Golf, and you can now find a course right in Johnson City at Traditions at the Glen. Gabrielle Lucivero has the details.
JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. -- It's just like golf, par threes, par fours, but this time there's no clubs necessary, all you need is your leg!
It started in the Netherlands in 2008, and now there are over 200 foot golf courses in the U.S. But Traditions is the first ever foot golf-only course.
AIl it takes is about an hour and-a-half to play a full round. So whether you play soccer, golf, or maybe haven't tried either -- it's just a great way to get out and get active.
"Golfers will become foot golfers, and foot golfers will become golfers. Bring two sports into one here and just get people out here playing and getting active in the area," said Traditions Director of Golf Naomi Nesenoff.
Traditions Foot Golf will kick off with a grand opening Saturday where you can play as many rounds as you want for just $5. But if you can't make it Saturday, you can schedule a round for just $10 weekdays and $12 on weekends.
