BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The East Clinton Library celebrated its grand re-opening on Monday after it was closed due to a fire in February. The fire was mainly contained to the electrical closet, but significant smoke damage required the entire interior to be remodeled.

The new space is more of a refurbishment than an update, but community members were still excited to get back inside.

"Every single day we had faces peering into the windows. 'What's going on?' I was getting phone calls and we absolutely wanted to make this something that they would be proud of, that they could come into and enjoy this as a community center, as a part of this community," said Mary Jean Jakubowski, Buffalo And Erie County Public Library director.

Library hours will return to their regularly scheduled times immediately.
