BUFFALO, N.Y. --Just in time for Summer Martin Luther King Jr. Park has been outfitted with
new basketball courts and kicked it off with a basketball game by the girls sports foundation.
Martin Luther King Junior Park has undergone some major renovations installing a new splash pad that tranforms into an ice rink during the Winter Months. Mayor Byron Brown says that this all about revitalizing the East side of Buffalo. Residents in the area say the kids are excited about the things to come in their neighborhood.
"They're saying yes we love the courts they're all on facebook they're tweeting about it social media is going blitz so yes they are very happy about the courts and about the expansion of everything that's going on with the festival this is really gonna bring some more attractions and some usage of the park" said Solar Ingram Board Member and Youth Committee Chair of the Junteenth Festival.
More than $1 million has been spent to renovate MLK Park.
