WARSAW, N.Y. -- Flood waters from a weekend storm have subsided, but a state of emergency will continue through at least Tuesday in Warsaw, Wyoming County.

At a historic cemetery, high winds toppled trees and crushed tombstones, some of which have been in place for more than 100 years.

The storm also heavily damaged a veterans memorial at the cemetery.

"This is just so heartbreaking because you've got, it's in honor of all those who sacrificed, plus we're a very strong veteran community," said Town Supervisor Becky Ryan.

Ryan estimates damage from the storm in the tens of thousands of dollars.
