ALBANY, N.Y. -- Wins on the court led to wins at the state capitol on Wednesday for two high school boys basketball teams, getting official honors from assemblyman Jim Tedisco.

The assembly unanimously passed resolutions for the Scotia-Glenville Tartans and the Shenendehowa Plainsmen.

The teams recently won state championships for class A and double-A respectively.

Assemblyman Tedisco presented the resolutions to the teams on the floor of the assembly chamber.

The recognition meant a lot for the players after a long season of hard work

"It's a huge honor, you know, for our team, a blessing to come here and be honored in front of so many people. To do it two years in a row, it's a great way to go out for us," said Joe Cremo, Senior, Scotia-Glenville High School.

"You know, it's nice to come down here with the team again. We haven't really been together a lot since the season ended. We have guys moving on to multiple sports, so it's nice to come down here and be honored by the state."said Kevin Huerter, Junior, Shenendehowa High School

Tedisco has his own basketball history, both as a college player, and later a high school varsity coach.
