Boutique Hotel Expected to Open in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. -- A Chicago-based real restate company wants to convert a closed hotel into a boutique hotel.

AJ Capital Partners made the announcement this week.

The Graduate Hotel Durham will be located in downtown on Willard St.

It's set to open in 2016.

It's the latest hotel in the works in the area.

Officials credit the hotel boom to more venues and events taking place in the Bull City.

“I think it just shows Durham is a great place to visit. It has been for many, many years and it continues to be and our future is looking really bright,” said Shelly Green.

Four other hotels are also in the works.

They're all expected to be open between summer 2015 and 2016.
