ITHACA, N.Y. -- Stewart Avenue in Ithaca is now back open following Tuesday's fire, but the investigation is far from over.
Wednesday, crews came in and demolished the apartment building that once housed 35 Cornell students. Still standing is the Chapter House, but anyone in the area is asked to stay away from the building because it is not safe.
Meanwhile Cornell's Mortar Board is doing what it can to help the students who lost everything in the fire.
They are asking the community for money, clothing, and school supply donations. They have even set up a go-fund-me page that has already raised thousands of dollars.
The group will be collecting donations from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Cornell's Ho Plaza through Friday.
