CHARLOTTE—A record-setting rollercoaster will officially be unveiled at Carowinds on Wednesday.
Fury 325 is the world's tallest and fastest giga coaster—reaching 30 stories above ground and hits speeds close to 100 mph. The track stands 20 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty, a staggering 325 ft. tall.
The coaster holds 32 people, has an 81-degree drop, more than 6.600 feet of track, and ends up being about a three and a half minute ride. Fury 325 is just the beginning of a lot of changes that are coming to the park. It is part of a $50 million makeover, that adds new rides such as this monster coaster, food and more entertainment.
The park opens for the season this Saturday March 28.
