CHARLOTTE -- Two people were shot during a fan party for the CIAA Basketball Tournament on Friday night.

This is the second year in a row for shootings at the star-studded events surrounding the tournament.

Rain-soaked crime scene tape and litter are the last remnants of a chaotic night at Label nightclub in the NC Music Factory.

Police say two gunshots into the crowd gave two people minor injuries.

The shooting happened during a day party unaffiliated with the CIAA, after a performace by rappers Jeezy and TI, among others.

The nightclub responded with a statement calling the shooting 'an incident,’ and saying they are cooperating with Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

After clearing the crime scene, Label re-opened the club later in the night for a show featuring Sean “Diddy” Combs, saying they would increase security.

Police have not released any information on a suspect.

For about a decade, the CIAA tournament has happened in Charlotte without an incident until last year.

There was also a shooting at the Sheraton Hotel last March at another unofficial CIAA party, again, hitting two people.

The hotel lost their liquor license shortly after.

A warrant was released last month, in which a man accused Combs' bodyguards of stealing his phone because he was shooting video during that incident.

The March of 2014 shooting has not been tied to Saturday night's shooting, but this year makes back-to-back years of closing out the tournament with violence.

The CIAA released a statement Saturday evening, re-inforcing that the party was not affiliated with the CIAA, and that they hope the victims of the shooting have a speedy recovery.
