WAKE FOREST--The lockdown on Heritage High School in Wake Forest has been lifted.

The school was placed on a code red lockdown due to a threat made on the campus via social media.  Authorities say the school’s status was changed to Code Yellow just before 11 a.m. It’s currently under Code Green.

School officials immediately notified the Wake Forest Police Department when it learned of the threat. After investigating, law enforcement determined that there was no intruder on the campus. The threat was made by an individual who was not in North Carolina. No students were in danger at any time.

Officials say those steps were taken as a precautionary measure to ensure that students were safe.

Heritage Middle School and Heritage Elementary were also placed under a Code Yellow as a precaution.
