The Galway man who police say brutally beat his parents with a baseball bat in their home earlier this week appeared in court Thursday. Time Warner Cable News reporter Jackson Wang has the details.
GALWAY, N.Y. -- Brandon Fisher, 20, said nothing as he entered Town of Galway Court Thursday.
He's accused of beating his parents inside their home on Sunday with a baseball bat, then fleeing to the Buffalo area where he was arrested on Monday.
Sheriff's deputies had said his Facebook posts actually lead them to Fisher.
Just hours after the attack, police say Fisher took to the online community saying, "Sometimes good people do bad things. Sometimes people are pushed past their breaking point. Just remember this: there's always two sides, and things aren't what they seem."
At Thursday's court hearing, a judge ruled Fisher must have a mental health evaluation before his next court appearance in March. A judge also issued an order of protection for Fisher's parents.
They were original listed in critical condition, but are expected to make a recovery.
On his way out of court, Fisher did break his silence and told reporters "I love my parents."
