A Philadelphia native, Madison Elliot began her journalism career in Rapid City, South Dakota where she honed her reporting skills for over two years. She most recently worked for Spectrum News 1 Buffalo before joining the Spectrum team in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2021.

Inspired by the stories that matter, Madison says that regardless how big or small an area is, there is always a story that deserves to be told - a story with the power to make a difference.

Madison has won numerous awards in her career. To name a few, Madison is the recipient of three AP awards, the 2017 Best Spot News Coverage award and the runner up for the 2018 Best General News Reporting and Best Enterprise Story awards.

When recalling her most memorable stories, Madison says her series of mental health reports in South Dakota were very impactful in a rural area were few mental health resources were available.

Madison is inspired to tell stories that point out a critical need and show how the community can effectively take action to help.
