Amanda Rose joined the Spectrum News 1 family in January 2021.

A self-described "valley girl" from the suburbs of Los Angeles, Amanda has moved around much of her life, trading sandy California beaches for the rain-filled clouds of the Pacific Northwest.

After graduating from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C., Amanda earned a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University in New York City.

Amanda's first gig in the broadcast industry was as a reporter and anchor at KOBI-TV NBC5 News in Medford, Oregon. She covered everything from crime to politics, including many fast-moving, deadly wildfires that swept across entire cities.

At Spectrum News 1, Amanda is the K-12 education reporter. You can find her at school board meetings and frequently chatting with teachers and families.

When she isn't working, Amanda loves wineries, listening to live music, and visiting her favorite city in the South (sorry Raleigh!) Charleston, South Carolina.
