Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Ryan Breslin was drawn to Raleigh for its growing population and booming infrastructure. While this die hard Patriots fan has found himself a long way from the home of his beloved football team, Ryan has found a new home in Raleigh and the excitement of this constantly growing city. The famously delicious biscuits, one of Ryan’s favorite southern treats, definitely help. With a long and constantly growing list of favorite restaurants in Raleigh, Ryan can tell you where to get the best biscuits in town in addition to many other cuisines.
As a broadcast journalism student at Suffolk University, Ryan’s love for the news was solidified while interning for ABC News’s 20/20, What Would You Do?, and various network specials. Ryan continued to pursue his passion for journalism at The Boston Globe as a video producer for more than two years before coming to Spectrum News in October 2016. This proud Eagle Scout finds it very rewarding to not only inform viewers of current events, but to make a difference in the community, often by seeking out stories of the underdog - a narrative he enjoys the most.
Not sure where to have lunch today? Ryan can certainly recommend a place or two. In his freetime, Ryan enjoys exploring the unique selection of restaurants in Raleigh. From poke bowls to buttered chicken, Ryan knows all of the best dishes in town. And, when he’s not out exploring the restaurant scene, you can find Ryan enjoying the sand dunes and salt air along the coast. It’s likely he’ll be listening to Britney Spears, whose legacy he’ll defend forever!
