WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Many Boys and Girls Clubs of America locations across the country have been serving as remote learning centers for children during the pandemic.

While it’s a help for many families, it is also a challenge for the clubs to make sure they have everything they need to help keep kids and staff members safe.

This week, Quest Diagnostics donated $5,000 and 1,000 face masks to the Boys & Girls Clubs in Wake County.

As of this week, roughly 450 students are served between the county’s seven locations.

“One of our protocols is that the kids have masks and wear masks anytime they are in the buildings," says Ralph Capps, President and CEO of Wake County Boys & Girls Clubs. "So this is a great contribution because that's something you don't normally have to buy for Boys & Girls Clubs, but we're able to work now with contributions like this to really make sure that the kids are safe."
