Teal Diva is a nonprofit that aims to educate and empower women living with ovarian cancer.

Saturday, the nonprofit held a photoshoot for survivors of ovarian cancer that live in North Carolina.

Tea Diva founder Shannon Routh has been 10 years cancer free. She says this photoshoot is bigger than just photos; it’s a way to raise awareness.

"There's currently not a screening for ovarian, so it's very important for us to raise that awareness and make sure that women know that and it would be important for us to be part of finding a cure," Routh said.

The organization is also hosting a masquerade party fundraiser Thursday night. The fundraiser is to support research to find a screening test for ovarian cancer. For more information, visit Teal Diva’s website.
