- Rally and March for Life event was held Saturday, beginning at Bicentennial Mall in Raleigh
- Pro-life advocates were in attendance as well as a small group of counter-protestors
- The event remained peaceful and no incidents were reported
It was an overall peaceful afternoon at this year's 'Rally and March for Life' event which began at Bicentennial Mall.
The hundreds of pro-life advocates in attendance were met by a small group of counter-protestors, who let their voices be heard.
This year's keynote speaker was Kurt Kondrich, who travels around the country advocating on behalf of children with down syndrome.
His daughter Chloe was born with the genetic disorder.
"Its genocide, is what it is, and we speak out against it, and like I said, my daughter, she's pure, she's pure love, shell never hurt anybody, as a police officer she commits no evil, she's exactly what the world needs right now during this divisive period," said Kondrich.
'NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina' released a statement Saturday in response to this year's rally.
It reads in part:
"Like the majority of Americans, the majority of people in North Carolina support access to safe and legal abortion, birth control, and comprehensive sex education, and we will continue to raise our voices."
