RALEIGH, N.C. -- It’s that time of year again when theatres across the Triangle are packed for those popular holiday shows, like the 'Nutcracker' or a 'Christmas Carol.'

But the experience could be overwhelming for some.

That is why Raleigh's Duke Energy Center has teamed up with the national nonprofit KultureCity for a sensory solution.

KultureCity trained staff at the Duke Energy Center to help visitors with sensory sensitivities.

The venue now offers visitors sensory bags available at the center's front lobby.

"That can help an individual that is having a sensory overload, there's fidget toys, noise canceling headphones obviously the environment in a theatre can be loud," said Sarah McAlister, marketing manager for the Duke Energy Center.

Other Triangle venues like PNC Arena and the Durham Bulls Athletic Park are also Certified Sensory Inclusive.
