NORTH CAROLINA — Lyft is giving a lift to voters in North Carolina's 9th District and those who are voting in Charlotte’s primary election.

The rideshare company said Monday it’s offering half-off rides to polling places, up to $10. Voters can use the offer code VOTENC2019 on Tuesday to receive the discount.

“Lyft is a public company invested in the public good, and we know the right to vote is a critical component of our democracy,” said Lauren Pelletier, Lyft’s general manager in the Carolinas. “Through this initiative, we hope to remedy any transportation barriers residents may face when trying to exercise that important right in North Carolina.”

The company also provided rides at a discount for the District 9 special election primaries earlier this year.
