FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County is preparing to deal with a mosquito invasion.

  • The Cumberland County Health Department is giving away free mosquito dunks.
  • Last year NC had more than 100 cases of mosquito-borne diseases.
  • The kits are available through the Department of Public Health’s Environmental Health division.

The county’s health department is getting an early start in combating the pests by giving away free mosquito insecticide dunks.

The donut-shaped dunks are good for 30 days and kill mosquitoes before they mature.

Each person can get a free two-month supply.

The dunks are available for free through the Cumberland County Department of Public Health’s Environmental Health division.
