RALEIGH, N.C. -- The calendar says May, but the weather will feel more like July in the coming days.

  • High pressure, off the Carolina coast, will continue to control our weather through the weekend
  • More heat is in the forecast with limited chances for showers and storms next week
  • In the tropics, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring a disturbance several hundred miles south of Bermuda

High pressure, off the Carolina coast, will continue to control our weather through the weekend. This will set the stage for more heat and more humidity on Saturday and Sunday.

For Friday night, there is a small chance for an isolated shower or storm as a disturbance moves into the area. Again, that chance for seeing precipitation is low.

On Saturday, look for mostly sunny skies with hotter daytime highs. By Sunday, we will see a few more clouds and another slight chance for an afternoon and evening shower or thunderstorm.

Looking into next week, more heat is in the forecast with limited chances for showers and storms.

In the tropics, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring a disturbance several hundred miles south of Bermuda for subtropical and tropical development. The chance for storm formation over the next five days is low at this time.
