WAKE COUNTY, N.C. – The shooting at UNC-Charlotte earlier this week is hitting home for some parents in Wake County.

  • Both Drew Pescaro and Sean Dehart went to high schools in Apex.
  • They were both injured during the shooting at UNC-Charlotte. 
  • Both were treated at Atrium Health and released, according to officials. 

Two of the four students who were injured in the attack are from Wake County and went to high schools in Apex.

Drew Pescaro is a graduate of Middle Creek High School. He was shot in the back and is recovering at the hospital.

His girlfriend sent an update to Chancellor Philip Dubois saying that there's a little time left in the hospital but Drew is feeling strong and he is happy as ever to be a Niner.

Sean Dehart, a Cardinal Gibbons grad, was also treated and released, according to Atrium Health.
