Soggy weather tops the forecast for the beginning of the workweek. Periods of rain will pass over the region over the next two days and while most showers will remain light to moderate, a heavier downpour will be possible from time to time. A cold front will pass through the region late Tuesday evening and could trigger a few thunderstorms as it pushes the rain out of the region Tuesday night.

Chilly air will remain in place for central NC for Monday, then a warm front will lift north on Tuesday, and at that point temps will to near 70 for some folks.

Drier weather is expected for Wednesday and Valentine’s Day along with mild daytime highs. Another chance for rain as we head into Friday.

Drier and cooler weather is then set to arrive for next weekend.
