APEX, N.C. -- A Triangle company is providing drone footage at the Super Bowl.

Apex-based Vector Aerial is working with the cable news channel CNN to set up special shots of Mercedes-Benz Stadium from across the street at their downtown headquarters.

"We tote and tout that we are the first in flight and have a lot of aviation experience," said Luke Layman, the group's co-founder. "But it's really cool to be able to bring back my experience in the Air Force, and be able to leverage some really neat technology with industry partners here in central North Carolina as well as throughout the southeastern U.S."

Vector says CNN was particularly interested in their company because of the tether technology they created. It helps the drone fly longer without running out of battery life.
