Little Maleah Williams was killed on Christmas Day back in 2015, after police say two men opened fire during a drive-by shooting at a Chapel Hill apartment complex and a stray bullet hit the child, who was playing outside.

On Tuesday, one of those men, Pierre Moore, pleaded guilty to second degree murder instead of first.

Maleah's mother was in the courtroom watching as Moore stood before a judge and told the family that not a day goes by where he doesn't think about little Maleah and what he did.

The defense says the bullet was not intended for Maleah, but instead a man he wanted revenge on.

Moore was sentenced to 28-34 years in prison.

Last May, a jury found Ramone Alston guilty of first degree murder in connection to the case.

He's currently serving a life sentence.
