NORTH CAROLINA -- A program to warn drivers they're going the wrong way got the green light from the North Carolina Turnpike Authority.

The crew spent the last year testing the wrong-way vehicle detection system.

During the state department’s last test, the system alerted four wrong-way vehicles of their errors during the testing phase.

The turnpike authority is going to use the technology on the entire stretch of the Triangle Expressway. It will also be used on the new Monroe Expressway in the Charlotte area.
