CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. – Fayetteville Police are searching for the person that shot and killed a man Thursday night.

• A shooting happened on Mesa Drive in Fayetteville Thursday night.
• It happened around 7:30 p.m.
• No identities have been released.

Police say it happened in the 5600 block of Mesa Drive near the intersection of Santa Fe Drive and Yadkin Road around 7:30 p.m.

There is no word on the victim’s name, but police were investigating a dark Mercedes at the scene. 

Suspect information has not yet been released, but police do not believe the shooting was random.
