The first raindrops fell Friday morning and we're still dealing with rain as we move through our Saturday morning. Today will be a day where your umbrella and rain boots will be your best friend. We're dealing with a relatively slow moving storm system that will cause rain to linger in the area throughout our Saturday. A Flash Flood Watch will remainin effect for much of central and eastern North Carolina until 5 this evening.

Rain coverage will be widespread through the morning hours with light to moderate showers. But by the afternoon there area signs the coverage of rain will be come isolated as skies remain cloudy. With the rain slacking off, temperatuers will peak near 50 for the Triad and in the low to mid 50s for the Triangle and Sandhills area.

Isolated showers will be possible this evening and tonight as an upper level area of low pressure still provides some moisture to the region behind this morning's cold front. Clouds will remain dominate overhead tonight keeping temperatuers milder than normal in the 40s.

After a cloudy start expect the sun to return to the state Sunday. Sunday morning will likely feature mostly cloudy to overcast skies, but by the morning expect a 50/50 split of clouds and sun. Clearing will conitnue Sunday night making way for a bright, cloud free start to the workweek Monday.

A cold front will approach the state late Monday, but it looks like this front will be moisture deprived. So we'll keep the forecast dry until our Thursday's arrival of our next storm system.
