WILSON, N.C. -- A year after being rescued from the rubble of a demolished home, a mom and her pups are healthy, happy, and thriving.

  • Volunteers with The Maggie Society, Canine Rescue, Rehabilitation and Education found the pups in a home that was getting demolished
  • The president of the society says the owner of the home was demolishing it with the dogs inside
  • Mom and three puppies were saved

The Maggie Society provided the following pictures, which include the mom and two of the three pups. They say all of the dogs have been adopted and are now living great lives and being advocates for their breed.

On December 13, 2018, volunteers with The Maggie Society, Canine Rescue, Rehabilitation and Education found the pups in a home that was getting demolished.

The president of the society says the owner of the home was demolishing it with the dogs inside.

Volunteers stood in front of the home to prevent the demolition.

Thanks to the volunteers' efforts and with the assistance of Wilson Fire Department, a mother and her three puppies found beneath the floor were saved.

It's a happy ending that many pups hope for. The Maggie Society says they have a lot of other dogs who would love to find their forever homes just like these.
